About the Role

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Mental Health Clinician (registered nurse or allied health professional), as part of the Waiariki Mana Ake Programme in the Whakatane area.

The Mana Ake service is led by health but delivered in collaboration with education, enabling the delivery of support where initial discovery of wellbeing need is often identified in a community setting.

The clinical mental health and wellbeing workforce will deliver evidence-informed individual, group and whole of class wellbeing programmes/interventions for tamariki as well as broader wellbeing cluster support to kura.

The Mental Health Clinician will form part of a culturally responsive workforce focused on building whakawhanaungatanga and relationships and will walk alongside tamariki and whanau on their wellbeing journey.

About You

  • You should have:
    • A commitment to being a good Te Tiriti partner in all your actions.
    • Phenomenal relationship skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
    • Fluency in Te Reo is required.
  • You will be:
    • An experienced health professional with current registration.
    • Well experienced in working with community, tamariki and whanau.
    • Adaptable and able to pivot within a rapidly changing environment.
