Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc. is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer/Planner to join our Transportation Planning & Operations group in Watertown and Boston, MA offices.

The selected candidate will collaborate with a dynamic team of transportation planners and engineers on various public, private, and institutional projects within a broad cross-section of markets.

Our team employs a sustainable, context-driven, and integrated project delivery approach to improve communities.

Responsibilities

  • Work with a multi-disciplinary team to develop mobility solutions considering all users and integrating Complete Street concepts.
  • Lead technical tasks for transportation engineering and planning elements of projects, including mid-level and junior staff.
  • Conduct multi-modal transportation analyses focusing on complex urban settings, municipal centers, and institutional campuses.
  • Prepare transportation impact, corridor, and intersection improvement studies.
  • Research and prepare reports, presenting findings and results to clients.
  • Prepare proposals and contracts.
  • Establish budgets and monitor project progress for technical accuracy and adherence to schedule and budget.
  • Represent VHB at meetings with clients, agencies, and stakeholders to discuss project issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or related field; Master's preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in transportation engineering and/or planning; 8+ years preferred.
  • EIT/PE, PTOE, and/or AICP certifications are highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Synchro, ArcGIS/data management, and/or HCS is an asset.
