Volunteer Emergency Care Specialist

Key Responsibilities

As an Ambulance & Events Volunteer, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing quality care to patients through their journey
  • Covering local and international sports events, school fairs or concerts
  • Working closely with our team of over 11,000 staff and volunteers
  • Attending regular duty and training sessions

You will also need to be able to pass Hato Hone St John assessments - physical assessment, health questionnaire, literacy and numeracy assessments and an interview. We offer NZQA recognised training and will give you all the support and education needed to make you safe and effective in the field.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A full and clean NZ driver's licence for at least 12 months or have completed an approved NZTA advanced driving course (if full licence held for less than 12 months)
  • To be 18 years of age or over
  • New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency status
  • A clean police record
