About the Job
This role offers a unique opportunity to work in the heart of the government, supporting Minister Simon Watts and his team. As a Private Secretary, you will be the 'face of the office,' greeting visitors, responding to queries, and providing critical support to the team and Minister.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the Minister and his staff, including drafting and responding to Official Information Act Requests, supporting with written and oral Parliamentary questions, and managing the Minister's diary.
- Assist with planning and booking travel, keeping the Minister informed of news from their Electorate office, and performing process-driven administrative tasks such as logging invitations and meeting requests, hard-copy correspondence, and responding to stakeholders' requests and invitations.
- Develop and implement administrative processes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the office, ensuring that all tasks are completed to a high standard and within deadlines.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience providing administration, secretarial, and/or reception services.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
