Kitchen Operations Overview

The Prep Cook plays a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of the kitchen. This includes preparing menu items to the highest standards of quality and presentation, as well as ensuring that all products are rotated and stocked to prevent kitchen disruptions.

Key Tasks
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training.
  • Prepare menu items according to our recipe manual and plate presentation guidelines.
  • Rotate products and maintain stock levels to prevent kitchen disruptions.
  • Assist with completing assigned prep work, stocking and setting up stations as necessary.
  • Transport items to and from the kitchen, assisting with vendor unloading delivery trucks.
  • Clean and maintain the kitchen area throughout your shift.
  • Break down and clean all stations at closing time.
Essential Qualifications
  • Able to work a flexible shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physically able to stand/walk 100% of your shift.
  • Can reach, bend, and stoop as required.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently.
  • Able to read recipes and food labels accurately.
  • Can read POS ticket orders efficiently.
  • Communicate ticket times, execute food flow from the kitchen to guests, and report potential issues to the Manager on duty.
  • Able to safely operate kitchen machinery (Open Flame Grill, Stove, Slicer, etc).
  • Work safely with hot plates, pots, pans, and sharp knives/utensils.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. several times per shift, lifting heavy loads to high shelves, coolers, freezers.
  • Ability to hold items weighing up to 5 lbs. for long periods of time.
  • Work in a high-temperature, damp environment indoors and minimally outdoors.
  • Assist fellow employees with dishwashing and cleaning as needed.
  • Complete and pass a food safety certification program, in compliance with Flanigan's and Florida statutes.
