The University of Auckland is seeking a visionary leader to helm its Centre for Brain Research, Te Huinga Hinengaro.

Job Description

This academic position is designed for a distinguished researcher with expertise in neuroscience and leadership skills to drive the next phase of growth and innovation at the Centre.

The successful candidate will be responsible for building on the Centre's existing strengths in translational brain research, fostering collaborations across disciplines, and promoting the development of new therapies and treatments for brain disorders.

The role also involves engaging with community partners, particularly Māori and Pacific communities, to enhance the Centre's impact and relevance.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong track record of research excellence, exceptional leadership and communication skills, and a deep understanding of the complex relationships between science, healthcare, and society.

The appointment is made on an initial 5-year term, and the director will work closely with senior university administrators, researchers, clinicians, and community stakeholders to achieve the Centre's strategic objectives.
