We are seeking a passionate Astronomy Host to join our team at Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu's Dark Sky Project.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in Astronomy and be able to provide engaging experiences for our visitors.

Job Responsibilities

This role involves working as a guide and driver for our visitors, sharing your knowledge of Astronomy and Māori astronomy.

You will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring the safety of our visitors, and working collaboratively with the team to ensure seamless delivery of experiences.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in the tourism or education sector
  • Confidence in public speaking and ability to engage with visitors
  • Fluency in English, with proficiency in at least one additional language preferred
  • A full and clean drivers' licence, with P-Endorsement (or ability to attain one)
  • Class 2 drivers licence (or ability to attain one)
