**About the Role**

Horizon School is a state-integrated area school seeking a qualified teacher to join our team as a science educator for secondary students.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality lessons to students in Years 7 to 13, with a primary focus on Years 7-8 science curriculum.

The role offers the opportunity to foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and a love of learning through hands-on and inquiry-based approaches.

As a member of our supportive team, you will be expected to deliver dynamic student-centered learning experiences that cater to the needs of diverse learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality lessons to students in Years 7 to 13.
  • Foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and a love of learning through hands-on and inquiry-based approaches.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that caters to the needs of diverse learners.
  • Develop and implement effective classroom management strategies to promote student engagement and motivation.

Requirements:

  • A current NZ teaching registration and a strong background in science or primary education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • A commitment to Christian education and the ability to create a faith-based learning environment.
  • Strong classroom management skills to engage students in dynamic learning experiences.
