About the Role
Are you passionate about shaping operational policy that lifts regulatory performance and provides clear direction for activities undertaken on conservation land?
We are seeking a Senior Operational Regulatory Policy Advisor to join our team in Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin or Hamilton.
This newly established role will involve developing operational regulatory policies that support the national delivery of high-quality regulatory processes.

Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Operational Regulatory Policy Advisor, you will have the unique opportunity to:

  • Design and develop operational regulatory policies that drive change and enhance conservation outcomes.
  • Analyse legislative and regulatory frameworks to provide authoritative advice on complex issues.
  • Collaborate with key partners and stakeholders to ensure our approach is equitable, innovative, and sustainable.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality results.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have experience in regulatory policy, law, or public administration, with a strong understanding of legislation, regulation, and the policy frameworks that shape the regulatory environment. You will also possess strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels and lead cross-functional teams.

The Team
You will be part of the Policy and Regulatory Services Group, which provides strategic direction and thought leadership for DOC and for the conservation system. The Operational Regulatory Policy Team is responsible for setting the direction and operational rules of the Conservation Regulatory System.
