The Role

This exciting career opportunity exists for a skilled and self-motivated individual to join our Company Meat Inspection team at our Malvern processing facility near Rolleston, Christchurch.

As a Company Meat Inspector, you will be responsible for carrying out post-mortem inspections of dressed carcasses and their parts to identify conditions that may affect food safety standards.

You will also ensure that our Company meets all regulations set by the Ministry of Primary Industries and other relevant industry bodies.

Your key responsibilities will include inspecting animals after slaughter, ensuring the quality and safety of our meat products, and monitoring and maintaining accurate recording of industry data.

You will need to possess excellent attention to detail, organisation skills, and the ability to work independently.

A great work ethic, a can-do attitude, and excellent communication skills are essential for this role.

Key Qualifications

To be considered for this position, applicants must hold the NZQA Level Four Certificate in Animal Examination.

We periodically provide opportunities to train towards this position, so if you're interested in working towards becoming a trained Company Meat Inspector, we encourage you to join us as an entry-level meat process worker where no previous experience is needed.
