The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Specialist to join our small but highly collaborative team.

This role provides a launchpad to make a significant impact in the procurement space, driving outcomes that deliver great value and manage risk.

This is a technical procurement role, with varied subject matter, strong business engagement, and the ability to contribute to meaningful projects with a positive impact on New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide business partnership with internal customers to deliver procurement activities that result in great outcomes, value for money, and effective risk management.
  • Identify and develop strategies for procurement risks and opportunities, including managing high-risk and high-value procurement activities.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize procurement approaches, processes, resources, and systems.
  • Develop and manage supplier relationships and contracts to ensure successful delivery.
  • Support the development of procurement and commercial capabilities across the organisation.
  • Collaborate with a team that values open communication, mutual support, and practical solutions.

Skills & Experience

We require a proven ability to lead procurement activities (Scientific/Professional Services preferred, Digital desirable) and partner effectively with internal teams to achieve organisational goals.

Experience in identifying and addressing procurement risks and opportunities, as well as implementing category strategies is essential.

A strong expertise in leading complex and business-critical procurement processes is required.

Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement in procurement processes and systems is necessary.

A sound understanding of supplier relationship management and contract management is also required.

A team player who embodies values of boldness, expertise, and collaboration will thrive in this role.
