Telecommunications Draftsman

Our Energy & Utilities business unit is an integrated trans-Tasman team, offering a range of services and solutions across the water, electricity, telecommunications, industrial, and power generation sectors.

We are seeking a Telecommunications Draughtsperson to join our team and report directly to the Draughting Manager. Key responsibilities include:

• Applying knowledge of telecommunications networks, records systems, and standards to create and maintain drawing records and databases depicting customer telecommunication networks.
• Providing support to field and office staff regarding the interpretation of telecommunication network records.
• Coordinating with Downer, customers, and staff to develop and refine record systems, standards, processes, and documentation.

To be successful, you will have:

• A solid understanding of telecommunications network technologies and practices, including those of major customers.
• Experience in using GIS and CAD software, preferably in a telecommunications or utilities environment.
• Skill in relevant customer software systems and other computer software use/access as required.
• Well-developed organisational skills and good communication skills for interacting with various team members, contractors, and customers.
• The ability to incorporate innovation into work processes and outputs.
• A sound understanding of financial parameters of the Draughting function.
• A positive attitude and commitment to providing high-quality service.
