Refocus is seeking a highly skilled Senior Power Systems Analysis to join our team in Christchurch. As a key member of our international consultancy group, you'll be responsible for planning the future development of existing or proposed power systems, ensuring their suitability, stability, and resilience.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Perform complex power system analyses to verify the electrical systems, including system components, are correctly specified to perform as intended, withstand expected stresses, and be protected against failures.
  • Develop and implement power system models to analyze system performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare detailed analytical reports based on network and/or generation studies.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop network planning and asset management plans.
  • Evaluate the impact of new technologies or methods on system performance.
  • Investigate system disturbances and failures to determine root causes and propose solutions.

What We Look For

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A tertiary qualification in Engineering, majoring in Power Systems.
  • A strong technical knowledge of NZ specifications, standards, and codes.
  • Experience leading technical discussions with clients to determine the optimal solution to meet their needs.
  • Skills in leading a team of Power System Analysis Engineers.
  • Proficiency in software such as Power Factory, PSCAD, and ETAP for simulations and modeling.
  • Project Management of projects, including technical, financial, and timeline aspects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • 8-10 years Power System Analysis experience, preferably in a consultancy environment.
