**About the Role**

This is an exciting opportunity to lead our kitchen operations and contribute to our mission of providing exceptional culinary experiences that showcase our unique connection to the land and the stories of Ngāi Tahu.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sustainability Leadership: Champion eco-friendly practices, minimize waste, and support Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu's journey to carbon neutrality.
  • Food Safety & Compliance: Ensure food control plans are followed, maintain high hygiene standards, and adhere to all regulatory requirements.
  • Kitchen Operations: Prepare high-quality dishes (including training in pizza preparation), manage stock and ordering, and oversee food quality and consistency.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and support kaimahi, foster a positive team culture, and work closely with the Food & Beverage Events Manager to develop staff.
  • Customer Experience: Help create memorable dining experiences that reflect our values of manaakitanga and hospitality.

About You

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a senior kitchen leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen operations.
  • Passion for sustainability and commitment to reducing waste and environmental impact.
  • Leadership skills to inspire and develop a high-performing team.
  • A love for creating incredible kai and enhancing the customer experience.
