About the Team

Safe, Strong Families and Communities sits within The Māori, Communities and Partnerships Group, working to build capability across MSD to support the aspirations of Māori, connecting and collaborating to build effective partnerships and community approaches that achieve better outcomes for those who most need our support.

The focus of the Safe, Strong Families and Communities team involves MSD's response to sexual violence, family violence, and building financial capability across New Zealand. In our work, we make a real and positive difference for communities, through the services we invest in and the support we give.

About the Role

This is a great leadership opportunity, coaching and supporting a passionate, dedicated team. You'll also be responsible for managing a portfolio of services, including joint ventures and cross-agency initiatives.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Leading and developing a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation
  2. Developing and implementing strategic plans, ensuring effective delivery of services to vulnerable populations
  3. Building and maintaining strong relationships with government agencies, community organizations, and other stakeholders
  4. Collaborating with internal teams to design and deliver effective solutions to complex social problems

To succeed in this role, you'll need to demonstrate exceptional leadership skills, a strong understanding of the social sector, and the ability to think critically and creatively.
