About the Role

This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a rapidly growing population area with a strong focus on partnership, equity, sustainability, whānau-centred care, and excellence. You will be part of a small multi-disciplinary team and responsible for maintaining and enhancing our Mental Health service.

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership and medical input to the multi-disciplinary team
  • Assess and treat patients with mental health conditions
  • Work collaboratively with the primary health sector consistent with our values
  • Contribute to ongoing service improvement and workforce innovation

About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist with experience in general adult psychiatry, preferably in an inpatient or community setting. You will have a personal commitment to maintaining high standards of practice and an unequivocal dedication to working as part of a team.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Fellowship with the RANZCP or equivalent
  • Eligibility for registration with the NZ Medical Council
  • A full driver's licence

Benefits

This role offers a competitive salary range between Step 1 ($185,380) and Step 15 ($267,980 per annum pro rata), subject to the ASMS Collective Agreement. You will also have opportunities for professional development and training, including contributions to student education.
