Role Overview

The Youth Worker/ Kaiārahi role at Taiohi Tūrama - Rotorua Centre for Youth is a dynamic and challenging opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young people (aged 12 to 21). As a key member of our Youth Development team, you will work closely with taiohi, caregivers, whānau, and community agencies to provide holistic support and guidance.

The successful candidate will have a strong passion for supporting young people and a minimum of two years' experience working with this age group. Ideally, they will hold a Level 4 relevant qualification or be open to working towards one.

This full-time position involves facilitating group work and 1:1 support sessions, assisting taiohi in developing skills and knowledge, and providing tailored coaching and mentoring. The programme focuses on building and strengthening connections, enabling comprehensive needs assessment, and addressing individual and group needs.

Social Impact: Our service delivery aims to achieve an education, training, or employment outcome for each taiohi, as well as strengthen their connections to people and support services.
