Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Wildlife Conservation Officer. As a key member of our conservation efforts, you will be responsible for conducting fieldwork in support of recreational fishery management, including vessel operations, angler advocacy, compliance and enforcement, monitoring and data collection.

The successful candidate will have strong emotional intelligence, able to speak confidently and relate to people when completing surveys and conducting compliance interviews. You will also possess strong verbal and written communication skills, with good report writing and literacy abilities.

In addition to your technical skills, you will be a team-focused individual with a strong commitment to the department's health and safety culture. You will be available for weekend work and to work outside normal hours, and hold a full New Zealand Driver Licence.
