Christchurch Airport is a dynamic environment where aviation, construction, emergency services, and office-based activities converge. We need a seasoned Senior Health & Safety Advisor to drive our Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) strategy forward.

This hands-on role involves leading improvement projects that will enhance our HSW approach.

Main Responsibilities

  • Enhancing Critical Risk Management through bowtie development and implementation
  • Developing key safety initiatives, ensuring alignment with CAA regulations
  • Merging People and Aviation Safety documentation into a single framework
  • Supporting assurance programs, including internal audits and operational guidance
  • Creating and delivering a revitalized HSW Training Program for our diverse teams

You'll work closely with colleagues and external partners, utilizing your influence, education, and stakeholder engagement skills.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Significant health and safety expertise, encompassing complex PCBU duties and critical risk management
  • A collaborative mindset, balancing strategic objectives with frontline realities
  • Experience working in high-risk environments – aviation, emergency services, construction, or similar
  • Ability to navigate multiple PCBUs, external regulators, and diverse stakeholders
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and reporting capabilities

A relevant H&S qualification or equivalent experience is necessary.
