The neurology service at Wellington Regional Hospital provides acute stroke services for the region and a regional telestroke and clot retrieval service for surrounding hospitals. This role is part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of neurologists, registrars, nurses, physiologists, and a neuropsychologist working across outpatient clinics and acute settings.

The team delivers services to a population of approximately 1 million people, ensuring gold standard care and treatments for patients. The CNS will work closely with paramedics, emergency department staff, radiology, senior stroke unit nurses, registrars, and consultants to achieve excellent patient outcomes.
