As a Diesel Engine Mechanic at Automotive Employment NZ Ltd., you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clients' heavy machinery. Your strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills will enable you to diagnose and resolve complex issues efficiently.

The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and heavy machinery, as well as excellent customer service skills. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and repair equipment is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in heavy construction equipment
• Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on diesel engines and related components
• Inspect and test machinery to identify potential problems and ensure proper functionality
• Utilise diagnostic tools and software to determine equipment issues
• Conduct repairs on hydraulic systems, transmissions, and fuel injection systems
• Maintain accurate service records and reports
• Adhere to safety protocols and industry regulations
• Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure timely equipment availability
• Provide recommendations for repairs and preventive maintenance schedules
