About the Role

We are seeking two experienced Kaiako to join our team and deliver the Te Ara Reo Maori program using the Ako Whakatere methodology. This is a permanent, full-time position based at our Mangere Campus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing lesson plans and presenting material to students
  • Responding to student needs and evaluating their progress
  • Encouraging research and professional development in teaching methods
  • Flexibility to work weekends and evenings may be required

Requirements

  • Fluency in Te Reo Maori and deep understanding of tikanga Maori
  • New Zealand Certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching (NZCATT L5) or equivalent
  • Diploma in Te Reo Maori or higher qualification
  • Full and current New Zealand Driver's License
  • Experience teaching Te Reo Maori and Ako whakatere methods
  • Proven adult teaching experience
