Job Title: Retail Store Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Retail Store Manager to join our team at Verai Krupa Limited T/A Kimpton Superette in Auckland, New Zealand.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a dynamic and friendly retail team, motivating personnel to perform at their maximum capacity, and driving business profitability through effective marketing strategies and store operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain integrity and inventory through proven skills and effective systems.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to ensure business profitability.
  • Organize and allocate responsibilities to personnel, ensuring maximum performance.
  • Supervise and guide staff towards maximum performance, conducting regular appraisals and performance reviews.
  • Manage the recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, and motivating of employees.
  • Prepare and control the store's budget, aiming for minimum expenditure and efficiency.
  • Ensure administrative and audit processes are followed, and monitor stock levels and purchases to stay within budget.
  • Make key decisions about stock control, product mix, and pricing, including implementing a stock control system with discounting and clearance when required.
  • Deal with customer complaints to maintain the store's reputation.
  • Inspect the store and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Plan and oversee in-store promotional events or displays.
  • Remain up to date with market trends to determine the need for improvements in the store.
  • Set pricing of products in line with market trends and business profitability.
  • Analyse sales and revenue reports and make forecasts.
  • Ensure the store fulfils all legal health and safety guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or Degree qualification in a relevant field.
  • Relevant work experience of 3 years can substitute the qualification.
  • Basic communication and computer skills.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities with organisational and leadership skills.
  • Possess a passion for the retail industry and a willingness to make a difference daily.
  • Possess a high level of business acumen and ability to work independently.
  • Must be a Non-Smoker.
  • Must not have any criminal convictions.
  • Must hold a Class I NZ driving license or equivalent overseas driving license.
  • Great team player with team bonding skills.
  • Available to work on weekends and public holidays.
  • Able to start early and finish late shifts when required.
