**About the Position:** We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Primary Birthing Unit – Case Loading Midwife to provide continuity of care to women throughout the antenatal, labour, birth, and postnatal periods in our dynamic and progressive organisation.
This role requires a midwife who is passionate about supporting women in their maternity journey while ensuring a high standard of clinical care and collaboration with other maternity and healthcare providers.
**Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Continuity of Care: Support women through the entire maternity process offering care 24/7 including telephone advice or in-person assessments for urgent issues
- Collaboration with Healthcare Providers: Work closely with DHB secondary services and other health professionals to ensure access to required care including obstetric consultations
- Quality Improvement and Risk Management: Demonstrate leadership in identifying quality improvement opportunities and participate in case review meetings and development of controlled documents
- Professional Development: Commit to your ongoing professional development ensuring up-to-date knowledge in midwifery practice cultural safety and legal and ethical standards
- Cultural Sensitivity and Diversity: Uphold the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi Te Tiriti O Waitangi respecting diverse cultural beliefs and practices
**Essential Skills and Qualifications:** NZ Registered Midwife with Current Midwifery Registration 2+ years recent midwifery experience in NZ post registration Full and clean NZ drivers licence Demonstrated clinical leadership and ability to maintain evidence-based practice Strong commitment to quality improvement and professional development
