Healthcare Quality and Patient Safety Manager

We are looking for a Quality and Patient Safety Manager to join our team at Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Taranaki. In this role, you will be responsible for leading our Quality and Patient Safety Unit and working collaboratively with our Hospital Leadership Team to ensure high-quality care is delivered and key performance indicators are met.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic leader to join our team. As Quality and Patient Safety Manager, you will be responsible for providing quality and patient safety leadership locally and supporting the development of quality improvement and risk management capability. You will work collaboratively with our Regional Quality & Patient Safety Lead to ensure implementation of the nationally agreed QPS work program.
You will have the opportunity to:
- Lead the Quality and Patient Safety Unit and manage a dynamic team
- Work in partnership with the Hospital Leadership Team to ensure high-quality care is delivered and key performance indicators are met
- Lead and encourage the development of quality improvement initiatives when identified
- Establish and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders

RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Demonstrated leadership experience of at least 5 years in the health sector in Quality and Patient Safety
- A relevant health qualification and clinical experience is essential
- Knowledge of New Zealand Health legislation
- Knowledge of risk management
- Expertise in serious adverse events review methodologies and Quality Improvement Methodologies
