About the Role
As a Senior Property Solicitor, you will be part of a specialist team providing legal support to the School Property Group. This involves assisting the Ministry with Crown-Maori relationships and Te Tiriti obligations related to school property. The role requires expertise in property law, leasing, and experience in Treaty settlements and Crown-Maori relationships.

Key Responsibilities
You will work closely with the Treaty Settlements Team to provide legal advice on school property matters. This includes assessing legal risk and balancing it with Crown objectives. Strong analytical, logical, and problem-solving skills are essential for this role. You will also be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships across diverse groups and teams within the Ministry.

Requirements
To succeed in this position, you need to have a current practicing certificate and at least 5 years of post-qualification experience. Your background in property law and leasing is crucial, as well as your ability to navigate complex Crown-Maori relationships. Strong advisory capabilities, effective written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to self-manage and collaborate with others are also required.
