Māori Child Welfare Specialist

In this role, you will work collaboratively with our Specialist Teams to provide support to tamariki and their whānau. You will use your knowledge of tikanga Māori and Pacific peoples' culture to develop effective plans and relationships.
You will be working with tamariki aged between 12-17 years who are challenging for traditional social work practice to engage with. Utilising an intensive social work practice, you will work with rangatahi and whānau who have experienced trauma, mental health, severe behavioural presentations, complex living situations, and/or offending behaviour.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have social work registration and experience working with tamariki, rangatahi, and whānau. You will also need to have client-focused skills, motivational interviewing skills, and experience working with complex tamariki.
