Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Healthcare Assistant. This role is an excellent opportunity for those who are passionate about providing exceptional care to our residents.

About the Role:

This position involves working closely with a Registered Nurse to provide personal cares, undertake delegated tasks, and respond quickly to resident requests. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and updating resident healthcare records, assisting with handover of residents at shift changes, and contributing to a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Undertaking personal cares while promoting independence among residents.
  • Promptly completing delegated tasks in a timely manner.
  • Responding quickly to resident requests, providing useful and relevant information.
  • Maintaining and updating resident healthcare records.
  • Assisting with handover of residents at shift changes.

Requirements:

  • New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 3 (or equivalent) and 3 years of relevant experience; OR New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4 (or equivalent).
  • Dementia and hospital-level care experience required.
  • Flexibility to work on a rostered shift basis.
  • People skills with empathy for the elderly and their families.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
