Curriculum Specialist in Māori Language

King's College seeks a passionate and dedicated educator to join our team as a Curriculum Specialist in Māori Language.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Te Reo Māori - Levels 1-8 of the New Zealand curriculum/Te Marautanga o Aotearoa, while also supporting our school's kapahaka group through their knowledge and leadership.
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified teacher with high fluency and understanding of Te Reo me ona tikanga Māori. The ideal candidate will have current teacher registration or be studying for a tertiary qualification in teaching.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality teaching and learning to our diverse student group
- Create a progressive and supportive learning environment that fosters inclusivity for all
- Build strong relationships with students and their whānau
- Lead the cultural experience within King's College
We are looking for a collaborative and enthusiastic individual who enjoys contributing and working as part of a team.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- High fluency and understanding of Te Reo me ona tikanga Māori
- Current teacher registration; provisional registration or be studying for a tertiary qualification in teaching
- Ability to teach to NCEA Level 3 Te Reo Māori
