Overview

The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team in Wellington.

This role will involve leading the development and implementation of quality management systems, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of quality assurance principles and experience working in laboratories accredited to ISO 17025.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement quality management systems
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 standards
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team responsible for operational systems that ensure a safe laboratory operating environment and compliance to regulations and standards

Requirements

  • Tertiary or equivalent qualifications in a related field (e.g. microbiology, biological science)
  • More than five years relevant technical or professional experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of quality management systems and quality standards
