About the Role

The Maternal Health Educator role at Wellington Regional Hospital's Maternity Unit is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the care and education of midwives, nurses, and HCAs. This 0.6FTE permanent position requires a skilled professional who can provide clinical shifts and an on-call component as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality education and skill development for midwives, nurses, and HCAs in the Women's Health Service.
  • Provide clinical oversight and care to women, babies, and staff in the clinical area.
  • Work closely with the team to ensure excellent patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Registered with the Midwifery Council of New Zealand and current APC.
  • Relevant postgraduate experience or working towards this qualification.
  • Certificate in Clinical Teaching would be an advantage.
  • Experience across the scope of midwifery; LMC experience would be beneficial.
  • Leadership experience would be advantageous.
