Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Vehicle Design Engineer to join our Structural & Mechanical Systems team, who will be responsible for designing and developing spacecraft structures and mechanical systems. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop spacecraft structures and mechanical systems, including performing R&D and design updates to improve performance, reduce risk, or reduce manufacturing cost
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams and Production to bring new concepts to life, helping with design documentation, FMEA, P&IDs, ICDs etc.
  • Lead design projects without supervision but with good stakeholder buy-in and collaboration across the company, defining design requirements and designing prototype parts
  • Develop mission-specific layouts for customer payloads and mentor junior engineers, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge and skills to succeed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Aerospace/Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering)
  • 5+ years working experience in Engineering, with significant experience modeling with 3D CAD software, ideally NX CAD, and associated PLM solution (Teamcenter)
  • Creative, analytical, good at problem solving, with clear communication skills and ability to work under pressure
