The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the delivery of Waitematā District's promise of 'Best care for everyone' by working in a busy, fast-paced environment and being part of a friendly, dynamic and culturally diverse team.

  • This is a great opportunity for a person who either has registration or is willing to work towards the Medical Laboratory Pre-Analytical Technician qualification (MLPAT) in Specimen Services.
  • The ideal candidate must have demonstrated data entry experience in a laboratory and excellent written & verbal English skills and comprehension.
About the Role:

The successful candidate will be required to participate in fully rostered shifts across North Shore Hospital and Waitākere Hospital, including evening and midnight shifts. The role involves working with sample collection tube types, data entry and other laboratory tasks.

About Us:

Health New Zealand Waitematā provides health services to approximately 650,000 residents of the North Shore, Waitakere, and Rodney areas. It has the largest population of any district health area.

The successful candidate will be able to contribute to the delivery of high-quality healthcare services in a collaborative and supportive environment.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Medical Sciences (MS) Council of New Zealand registration or be willing to work towards MS Council registration as a Medical Laboratory Pre-Analytical Technician
  • NZ residency or NZ citizenship
  • NZ drivers licence
  • Experience and skill in Specimen Services tasks
  • Ability to cover service delivery hours' weekdays, weekends and public holidays
  • Ability to work at North Shore and Waitakere Hospital Laboratory campus
