Salary and Benefits
\As a Youth Worker at Pathways Health Ltd, you will be rewarded with a competitive hourly rate of up to $29.83 per hour. In addition, you will receive a range of benefits, including increased Employer KiwiSaver contributions, five weeks of annual leave after 12 months of employment, and two wellbeing days annually.

The Role
\We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Youth Worker to join our team on a permanent part-time basis. You will work 32 hours per week, Friday to Monday, 3pm to 11.30pm, supporting our taiohi in a residential respite setting. Your primary focus will be on promoting mental health and wellbeing through a trauma-informed lens.

Key Responsibilities

- Support young people between the ages of 12-18 in developing independent daily living skills, planning and working towards individual goals, and participating in activities or outings.\
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with our taiohi, fostering a sense of trust and respect.\
- Attend appointments and advocate for our young people's needs, ensuring their voices are heard and valued.\
- Be prepared to perform tasks that promote the overall wellbeing of our taiohi, such as cooking, cleaning, gardening, and assisting with everyday tasks.\

Requirements

- A Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognised equivalent qualification.\
- Experience in working with young people, particularly those with mental health needs, and an understanding of trauma-informed care principles.\
- Strong de-escalation and relationship-building skills, enabling effective communication and conflict resolution.\
- A current full New Zealand driver's license, facilitating transportation for our taiohi when required.\
- A current New Zealand first aid certificate or willingness to obtain one, demonstrating your commitment to providing high-quality care.\
- Demonstrable knowledge of and commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, ensuring a culturally responsive approach to our work.\
