Cultivating Inclusive Learning Environments

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Psychologist to join our team in Dunedin. As a member of our Learning Support service, you will play a critical role in enhancing inclusive practices in early learning services, schools, and other educational settings.
Your primary responsibility will be to provide professional support and guidance to schools, teachers, and families, building their capacity to support the learning needs of children and young people. You will work collaboratively with a trans-disciplinary team to provide specialist assessment and analysis for evidence-informed interventions.
In this role, you will have opportunities to engage in project work, individual casework, targeted group work, and universal systems-level work. We encourage innovative thinking and collaboration to ensure positive outcomes for students.
As a successful candidate, you will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. You will also demonstrate a strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangatawhenuatanga, as well as knowledge of Te Ao Maori and its principles.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement inclusive practices in educational settings
- Provide professional support and guidance to schools, teachers, and families
- Collaborate with a trans-disciplinary team to provide specialist assessment and analysis
- Engage in project work, individual casework, targeted group work, and universal systems-level work
- New Zealand Registered Psychologist under the Health Practitioners Competency Assurance Act
- Current practicing certificate or registration as an Intern
- Mastery's level tertiary qualification and post-graduate Diploma in Educational Psychology or equivalent
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangatawhenuatanga, Te Ao Maori, and its principles
