Anaesthetic Assistant

About the Role

As a skilled Anaesthetic Technician or RNAA, you will be part of a dedicated perioperative service that plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care at Nelson Hospital. Our team consists of experienced professionals who work collaboratively across a wide range of surgical specialties.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Assist anaesthetists during surgeries by preparing and handling anaesthetic equipment.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures.
• Maintain anaesthetic equipment and stock supplies.
• Collaborate closely with surgical teams to support seamless and efficient operating theatre operations.
• Comply with hospital policies and safety standards, maintaining a high standard of patient care.

About You

• You are a Registered Anaesthetic Technician or a RNAA, with a current APC issued by The Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand (MSCNZ) or be eligible for the same.
• You have relevant experience in an anaesthetic or perioperative setting, which is preferred.
• You possess strong attention to detail, effective communication, and team collaboration skills.
• You are able to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the department and cope with a high and varied workload, including emergency situations.
