Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate individual to join our team as a Volunteer and Foster Coordinator and Animal Attendant. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of animals and people.

Main Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the development of our SPCA volunteers and foster familiesEnsure the physical health and behavioural needs of all animals at the centre are metCo-ordinate and maintain sustainable foster programs at the centreSupport the animal attendants, foster families and volunteers and ensure centre standards are maintained

Requirements:

A completed Certificate in Animal Care (Level 3 or above)A current Certificate in First AidAn appointed Auxiliary Officer under the Animal Welfare Act 1999 including having knowledge and understanding of the Animal Welfare Act.Practical animal-handling experience and knowledge and experience in animal behaviour and basic care.Experience and confidence in handling animals with a range of temperaments.An understanding of animal behaviours and zoonotic diseases is desirable.Experience in providing vet treatments including flea, worm, vaccinations and microchipping.Experience in volunteer coordination and leadership.Experience in recruitment, supervision and training of volunteers is desired.High level of communication, written and verbal, including confidence in presenting to large groups and public speaking.Being a friendly, approachable people-person.
