About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Practice Director to lead our QA practice, driving growth, innovation, and commercial success in the market-facing proposition.

You will be responsible for creating the business pipeline, growing a high-performing team, establishing strategic relationships with customers, managing budgets, and combining technical expertise with strong commercial awareness to craft, position, and sell QA services and products.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Pre-Sales Support: Assist with pre-sales by engaging directly with customers to tackle their biggest challenges
  2. Product Champion: Champion the products and services for which you are the owner, leveraging relationships built with customers to create opportunities for the wider Digital Engineering Service Line
  3. Practice Growth: Create the business pipeline, grow a high-performing team, establish strategic relationships with customers, manage budgets
  4. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Consult with the wider Development practice management team to define and execute a growth strategy for your practice
  5. Customer Engagement: Design, run, and improve a range of workshops with our customers to create value throughout the product lifecycle and deliver tangible outcomes for projects
  6. Team Leadership: Lead and grow a high-performing team, mentoring Team Leads and Senior Consultants within your practice, creating a strong culture focused on customer-centricity, collaboration, and team growth
  7. Operational Support: Assist with workforce planning and technical hiring decisions within your practice, with support from peers
  8. Delivery Excellence: Hands-on delivery leadership across the development lifecycle across Datacom teams and customer teams when required, with strong support from the delivery practice
  9. Partner Engagement: Build relationships with relevant partners
  10. Billing and Commercial: Perform billable work as a Lead Consultant across workshops or Software delivery where required; commercial and financial management of the local Practice
  11. Regional Strategy: Assist in setting and executing of the regional strategy

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

Leadership and Management Experience

  • Management or other equivalent leadership experience of technology teams
  • Experience managing and leading IT professionals and leaders

Technical Expertise

  • Demonstrated expertise in managing client relationships
  • Understanding of budgeting and time and resource constraints
  • Deep understanding of the Digital Product Lifecycle and software delivery
  • Ability to assess clients' needs, identify customer requirements, and connect them to business outcomes

Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong leadership, management, and organisational skills
  • Demonstrate experience providing thought leadership in Quality Assurance with enterprise clients
  • Demonstrate expertise in Agile and product development methodologies and practices
  • Demonstrate expertise in a variety of application design methodologies and practices for medium to large enterprises

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

  • Good influencing, interpersonal, and communication skills to engage senior leaders and technical specialists, as well as coordinate complex initiatives across multiple teams

Problem Solving and Innovation

  • Responsible for assessing complex client challenges and driving innovation to address those challenges with QA solutions
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills in fast-paced environments
  • Passion for continuously improving service offerings
