About the Role: The Anatomical Pathology team is located within Canterbury Health Laboratories and provides histology and cytology services to Canterbury and a tertiary referral service and multidisciplinary team support for the South Island more broadly.
We have access to a wide range of diagnostic molecular pathology techniques, including IHC stains, NGS, FISH, and surface marker flow cytometry. Fine-needle aspiration biopsies are performed on site, including palpation-guided and image-guided biopsies. The laboratory supports national screening programs and offers accredited training opportunities with the RCPA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality clinical laboratory services
- Work collaboratively in subspecialty teams
- Develop skills in histopathology and cytology
- Support national screening programs
- Contribute to teaching medical students
About You: You will have completed PGY2 as a minimum and be eligible for general or provisional general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. You should have broad clinical experience and/or prior exposure to pathology training.
