Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Customer Engagement Specialist to join our team at the University of Auckland's Hiwa Sport and Recreation Centre.

About the Role

This is a full-time, permanent position responsible for leading initiatives to grow and retain our membership base. The successful candidate will be customer-focussed, proactive, and highly organised with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Main Responsibilities
  • Liaise with members, staff, and external partners to develop and implement membership growth strategies.
  • Create engaging experiences that promote Hiwa's brand and services.
  • Build strong connections across the University and wider community.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to enhance membership opportunities.
Key Requirements
  • A qualification in fitness, sport, marketing, or management, or equivalent experience.
  • Current First Aid Certification.
  • Experience in a recreation or fitness facility, including customer service, member engagement, and event promotion.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a team-focused mindset.
