About the Opportunity

Te Toka Tumai Auckland, a leading teaching hospital in New Zealand, is seeking an experienced Senior Medical Officer to join their Gastroenterology department. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled gastroenterologist to combine a fulfilling career with a desirable lifestyle in Auckland.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will possess strong general gastroenterology and endoscopy skills, with some ERCP sessions available. EUS experience is highly regarded. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing secondary care for both inpatients and outpatients, including diagnosis and treatment of various gastrointestinal conditions. You will also have opportunities to perform advanced endoscopy procedures, such as therapeutic and diagnostic services.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide high-quality patient care in the Gastroenterology department
- Conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including ERCP and EUS
- Collaborate with other medical professionals to ensure comprehensive care
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date with best practices and advancements in the field

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following criteria:

- Be registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand
- Possess FRACP or equivalent qualification
- Hold vocational registration in New Zealand
- Have specialist accreditation in endoscopy recognized by the NZ Gastroenterology Society
- Be trained in General Internal Medicine
