Person Specifications - Director

The Minister of Science, Innovation, and Technology is seeking experienced directors with proven strategic financial leadership capability. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven governance experience
  • A genuine interest in science and its economic benefit for New Zealand
  • Strategic financial leadership, including audit and risk experience
  • Strong business and commercial acumen, including industry connections

The successful candidate will also possess additional skills, experience, and attributes, including:

  • Commercialization and innovation experience
  • Stakeholder management experience
  • Knowledge and experience in the science and research system
  • Media and public relations experience
  • Expertise in change management and human resources
