Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and creative educator to join our team at West Harbour Playcentre. As a Session Facilitator, you will play a vital role in facilitating child-led play and supporting the development of our centre's tamariki, parents, and whānau.

Your Responsibilities

  • Facilitate child-led play sessions and guide activities to support learning and development;
  • Work alongside our centre whānau to open sessions and provide positive guidance;
  • Support whānau in the use of Te Reo Māori and encourage participation in the Playcentre Education programme;
  • Mentor and support parents/whānau/members/tamariki as they explore and learn with their children during these special years.

Requirements

  • Hold a Playcentre Course 3 qualification or higher or an Early Childhood qualification of Level 4 or higher;
  • Hold a current First Aid Certificate or be willing to achieve this;
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Te Whāriki and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi;
  • Have strong interpersonal and communication skills with tamariki and adults;
  • Be passionate about empowering and engaging with all whānau to feel a sense of belonging in our sessions.
