About Us

Conservation Volunteers New Zealand is a community-based not-for-profit organization dedicated to protecting and restoring Te Taiaio (environment) in Aotearoa.

Our Mission

We aim to create a world where people and nature flourish together by engaging thousands of volunteers on restoration projects across the country.

Main Objectives:
  • Restore the health of our waterways through effective conservation practices
  • Maintain a strong focus on community engagement and education
  • Foster partnerships with landowners and stakeholders to achieve shared goals
The Role

The Project Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating our restoration work on the Papakura Stream Restoration Project. This involves but is not limited to:

  • Landowner engagement and collaboration
  • Implementing and maintaining a monitoring program for restoration work undertaken
  • Leading practical conservation activities
  • Driving community engagement and volunteer recruitment
  • Coordinating program administration and delivery
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • Working with Vulnerable People Check
  • Current Provide First Aid including CPR Certificate
  • Occupational Health and Safety Level 3 Certificate
  • Environmental knowledge and experience, particularly in the New Zealand context
  • Full First-Class Driver's Licence
  • Defensive Driving Certificate
  • Experience in coordinating projects and people
