We are seeking a psychiatric rehabilitation expert to join our team at Buchanan Rehabilitation Centre. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide specialist psychiatric input and expertise in all aspects of patient care.
**About the Team/Service/Location:**
Buchanan Rehabilitation Centre is a specialist inpatient rehabilitation service for 40 people aged 18-65 years. The majority of people are under 30 years and all experience serious mental illness with associated high and complex needs. Many have significant physical health needs.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Providing psychiatric expertise in all aspects of patient care.
- Leading daily planning, handovers, and clinical reviews.
- Liaising with other medical services, including physicians and GPs.
- Acting as Responsible Clinician for clients under the MH Act.
- Participating in the on-call after-hours SMO roster.
**Requirements:**
- Vocationally registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
- Experience in providing psychiatric expertise to people experiencing severe mental ill-health.
- Commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for Māori.
- Full and clean driver's license for community work.
