About the Role

This is a permanent position working 40 hours Monday-Friday. We are seeking a Head Teacher who will have a positive impact on the Centre, exemplify the BestStart values and vision, and inspire and motivate the team. Having experience in a Head Teacher role would be an advantage, although it is not essential.

You will be based in our mixed over 2's room where we encourage tamariki to use their developing self-help skills while providing a range of opportunities to extend their independence. We offer BestStart's Be School Ready initiative for our preschool children, which will be incorporated into everyday practice, assisting with the next step in their learning journey.

Requirements

We're looking for a natural leader who shares our values and vision who has a good understanding of programme planning and assessment as well as a drive and passion for growth.

  • B Ed / Dip Teaching Level 7 (ECE)
  • Current Teacher Certification
  • A strong understanding of programme planning, pedagogy and curriculum
  • Good knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whariki and hold compliance in a high regard
  • Passion and commitment for teaching and learning with a focus on delivering quality
