The Department: The Department of Anaesthesia provides acute and planned anaesthesia services in Christchurch across two main campuses. Surgical services are provided for all main surgical specialities, including Cardiothoracic, Vascular, Neurosurgery, Trauma, Paediatric/Neonatal surgery and Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Tertiary services provided for patients from outside Canterbury include Acute Spine, Oncological surgery and endovascular clot retrieval. The department is accredited for training by ANZCA and has a large number of trainees.

About the Team: As a member of the Department of Anaesthesia, you will work collaboratively with a diverse team of professionals to provide high-quality patient care. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills and expertise in a variety of settings, including elective and acute cases. Where possible, sub-specialty interests will be accommodated.
