Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Drinking Water Treatment Engineer to join our team in Auckland. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the routine maintenance and monitoring of existing Water Treatment Plants around the North Island.

About the Role:

This is a hands-on role that requires daily travel to various sites and occasional overnight stays away from home. You will become more autonomous as your skills/knowledge develop and must be comfortable working safely unsupervised.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, service, and repair drinking water treatment systems, including filtration systems, disinfection equipment, pumps, valves, and other components.
  • Conduct routine maintenance checks, inspections, and performance tests on water treatment systems to ensure optimal functionality and adherence to industry regulations.
  • Assist with process mechanical installation.
  • Troubleshoot system issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their specific needs, provide technical advice, and offer recommendations for improving system performance and efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records of service activities, including equipment maintenance logs, service reports, and client communication.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry advancements, best practices, and regulatory changes to provide informed technical support and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
  • Avoid accidents and promote a safe work environment by strictly adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Drinking Water Treatment Engineer, preferably in the drinking water industry or a similar field.
  • Technical certification, trade or degree in a related field is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong knowledge of drinking water treatment systems, including various filtration methods, disinfection techniques, and water quality parameters is also desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a natural ability to troubleshoot.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and eagerness to learn.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
