Role Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Psychiatry Consultant to join our esteemed team at Te Whatu Ora Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our mental health services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing expert psychiatric care to patients across a range of specialties, including general adult psychiatry, psychogeriatrics, and consultation liaison psychiatry.
  • Working closely with colleagues from various disciplines to ensure seamless care coordination and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participating in the development and implementation of new clinical programs and services to enhance patient care and satisfaction.
  • Mentoring and training junior staff members to promote professional growth and development within the team.
  • Engaging in quality improvement initiatives and staying up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practices and research findings in the field of psychiatry.

Requirements

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must:

  • Hold a vocational registration as a psychiatrist with the Medical Council of New Zealand or have eligibility for this.
  • Have fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) or equivalent.
  • Demonstrate a passion for teaching and training others in the field of psychiatry.
  • Be committed to working collaboratively as part of a dynamic team to achieve outstanding patient outcomes.
