About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Improvement Consultant to join our team at Transpower New Zealand Limited (TPNZ). This is an exciting opportunity for a talented professional to contribute to the establishment and maintenance of our improvement framework, establishing and embedding CI governance process and structure to realise best value.

The OPTI Process Modelling and Continuous Improvement team will provide process modelling and continuous improvement expertise to our Operations division, monitoring the efficiency of our processes and implementing incremental improvements. As a key member of this team, you'll play a crucial role in studying existing processes to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement, ensuring documentation and training support best practices, coaching and implementation of initiatives.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify pain points and maintain a prioritised backlog of improvement initiatives
  • Prioritise CI, shape, facilitate, and embed focused process improvements into Operations to enhance performance and drive better outcomes
  • Work closely with our Business Process Modeller to establish and maintain an up-to-date process repository and CI capability
  • Collaborate with SME's and senior leaders across the System Operator to build strong relationships and drive change

Your Skills and Qualifications:

  • ~5+ years of experience working on successful CI improvement initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience managing both technical and operational process streams
  • The ability to assess training needs and the capability to deliver it
  • A proven record of innovating, proposing new directions, and developing new concepts
  • A relevant tertiary qualification or certification in Lean Process Improvement (e.g., Lean Certification, Lean Six Sigma) or equivalent experience
